The Canadian Judicial Council makes every effort to make all of its publications accessible to all.  We have adopted the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) for our website.  Our goal is to make our website as accessible as possible.

Privacy Statement

The Canadian Judicial Council is committed to providing visitors with a website that respects their privacy. Personal information, such as your name, phone number or e-mail address, is not collected. We would only obtain this type of information if you supply it by sending us an e-mail. Any personal information obtained this way will be used only to respond to your request. The information may be shared with a specific public institution or agency if your enquiry relates to that institution (for example, a provincial judicial council in the case of a request regarding a provincially-appointed judge). We do not use this information to create individual profiles.


Official Languages

The Canadian Judicial Council upholds and respects the provisions of the Official Languages Act and the policies of the Government of Canada regarding official languages, including the provision of services to members of the public in the official language of their choice. Most information on this site is available in both English and French. However, certain information is only available in its original language, such as submissions made to the Council by outside parties.  Also, some hyperlinks on our website refer to sites that are external to the Government of Canada. These external sites may not be available in both official languages.

Some of the information on our website refers to external sites. The Canadian Judicial Council is not responsible for the quality, merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose of products or services available on external sites, nor for the accuracy, reliability or currency of the information contained on external sites.
